TSWG Awards Sound Metrics A Contract for 12 Diver-held Sonars TSWG, the U.S. national forum that identifies, prioritizes and coordinates interagency and international research and development (R&D) requirements for combating terrorism, awarded Sound Metrics a contract for 12 DIDSON Diver-held sonars. Two sonars were immediately delivered to the Second Fleet – EOD in Norfolk, VA. The other systems will be delivered to a central command activity in Mechanicsburg, PA. then forwarded to selected underwater crime scene investigation teams and law enforcement dive teams throughout the United States. The DIDSON currently is used for search, rescue, and identifying objects in turbid water by the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy and Coast Guard.
